International Women's Day, celebrated annually on March 8, serves as a moment to acknowledge and honor the remarkable contributions of women around the world. It is a day dedicated to celebrating achievements, advocating for gender equality, and recognizing the strength of women in all walks of life. To mark this occasion, popular Star Plus actresses—Samriddhi Shukla (Abhira), Neha Harsora (Sailee), Vaibhavi Hankare (Tejaswini), and Sonakshi Batra (Meghla)—share their personal thoughts on what Women's Day means to them and how they plan to celebrate.
Samriddhi Shukla, known for her role as Abhira in 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai', shares, "For me, every day feels like Women’s Day. As a woman who juggles both career and personal life, I deeply value the independence to make my own choices, pursue my passions, and shape my own journey. While receiving gifts and flowers is always a thoughtful gesture, what truly matters to me are the words of appreciation, the acknowledgment of my hard work, and the respect earned for my strength and resilience. Women’s Day isn't just one day—it's about empowering women, ensuring equality, and allowing us the freedom to unapologetically be ourselves, every single day."
Neha Harsora, who portrays Sailee in 'Udne Ki Aasha', shares, "I love spending Women's Day with my mother and younger sister, Yesha. We typically go out and enjoy each other’s company. However, due to my busy shooting schedule this year, I might not have the time, but I’ll make sure to carve out some special moments with them. My mother, aunt, and a close friend have always been my biggest inspirations. They’ve instilled in me the importance of being self-reliant and managing my finances independently. I truly believe that women have the power to uplift each other, both personally and professionally. It’s essential for every woman to have her own identity."
Vaibhavi Hankare, who plays Tejaswini in 'Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Mein', shares, "This year, I want to celebrate Women’s Day by appreciating the incredible women around me—whether it’s my colleagues, friends, or family. I also want to reflect on my own journey and how far I’ve come. In the past, I’ve celebrated by supporting women-led initiatives, having empowering conversations, and recognizing the strength and resilience of the women I work with. To me, every day is a celebration of womanhood. My mother has been my biggest role model, with her strength, resilience, and grace in overcoming life’s challenges. Women empowering women is one of the most beautiful and powerful things. Believe in yourself, even when the world makes you question your worth. Wishing a Happy Women’s Day to all the amazing women!"
Sonakshi Batra, known for her role as Meghla in 'Iss Ishq Ka Rabb Rakha', says, "For me, Women’s Day has always been about the two incredible women in my life—my mother and my elder sister. The way they have shaped me and influenced my character is something I will always cherish. On Women’s Day, I make sure to express how much their love and support mean to me, whether through a small gift or heartfelt conversations. Over the years, many women have inspired me, including Priyanka Chopra during my childhood, who led me to pursue acting, and later, Alia Bhatt, whose journey has been truly inspiring. My message to all women is: Dare to dream big, but also work towards that dream every day."
