New Delhi: TV actress Puja Banerjee, who played the role of Goddess Vaishno Devi in Star Bharat’s ‘Jag Jaanani Maa Vaishno Devi’, has quit the show. Puja recently announced that she tied the knot with her long-time partner Kunal Verma. The talented actress has decided to take a break after her marriage and hence she opted out of the show. We had earlier informed you that Rubina Dilaik might step into Puja’s shoes and play the lead role in the mythological show. Contrary to the rumours, the ‘Shakti-Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki’ actress won’t join the show. Jodha Akbar’ fame Paridhi Sharma will replace Puja Banerjee and play the new Maa Vaishno Devi. Yes, you read that right. Paridhi Sharma, who became a household name after playing the role of Jodha Bai opposite Rajat Tokas, recently shot for a promo of ‘Jag Jaanani Maa Vaishno Devi’. According to Saas Bahu Aur Saazish, Paridhi’s mother-in-law convinced her to take up the role. The actress made her comeback to the small screen with Sony TV’s ‘Patiala Babes’. The show went off air due to the COVID-19 crisis. On the professional front, Paridhi made her TV debut with Star Plus’ ‘Tere Mere Sapne’. She has also acted in shows like ‘Ruk Jaana Nahin’ and ‘Yeh Kahan Aagaye Hum’. She hosted the crime show ‘Code Red’ on Colors channel. Watch this space for more updates!
