Bigg Boss 16: Shalin's Father Slams Sumbul's Dad Over His Comment On His Son, Ex-Contestants Too Criticise Him
On Monday’s episode, Sumbul was given a chance to speak to her father Touqeer Hasan Khan, who told her to show Tina and Shalin their place. This has not gone down well with Shalin Bhanot's father
New Delhi: A lot happened on 'Bigg Boss 16' in the past week and on Weekend Ka Vaar that may change the dynamic between Sumbul Touqeer Khan and Shalin Bhanot. Salman Khan said Sumbul is ‘obsessed’ with Shalin and many other contestants, including Teena Datta and Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia, agreed to it. Sumbul, on the other hand, kept on saying that she doesn’t have feelings for Shalin.
On Monday’s episode, Sumbul was given a chance to speak to her father Touqeer Hasan Khan over the phone as her father is not keeping well. Her father told her to show Tina and Shalin their place. He said, “Beta aap Tina aur Shalin ko unki aukat dikhani hain National Television pe”.
These words have not gone down well with Shalin Bhanot's father who told IANS: "Is this the way people speak on national television? Making unjustified offensive comments on national television, against other participants is very, very cheap! And it's more shocking that these comments and abuses were not edited out and rather shown. Sumbul is an adult, either you shouldn't have sent her on the show and if you have then no outside guidance should be allowed as per the format. This is unacceptable!"
Meanwhile, many ex-contestants have called out Bigg Boss for the phone call as it gives an unfair advantage to Sumbul. Her father was also criticised for the kind of words he used for the other contestants.
Bigg Boss 7 contestant Kushal Tandon took to Twitter and wrote, “Why sumbul is only contestant who’s dad was allowed to come on stage to talk about how she is goin ….. how she is the only contestant who’s dad gives her a cal and can talk over phone ……”
In another tweet, he wrote about Sumbul’s father’s choice of words. He tweeted, “And how dare her dad is allowed to have a phone call now … and how can he speak Ill of other contestants … vo bhi kiski ki Beti hain his dad is saying tina is Kamini… stay out of her wow.”
He also said that the makers should not have aired the episode. “And best part all is getting on air , and showing to public what are they projecting? bhai dal main kuch kallaaa nahi , puri dall heee kaliiii hain , hahhaaa big boos mahan hain,” he tweeted.
Bigg Boss 6 winner Urvashi Dholakia too tweeted about the same. She wrote, “SLOW CLAP wah Bigg boss .. u have made urself look like a BIGG LOSS !! The joke is on you thanks to Sumbul & her father who spoke so badly & forgot that everyone is someone’s CHILD in that house!! SHAME ON YOU. @ColorsTV@justvoot #biggboss16 #disgusted.”
Devoleena Bhattacharjee also felt that the phone call should not have been shown and it was inappropriate.
“I wonder why the phone call was shown when @BiggBoss himself mentioned it was inappropriate. I understand the anger & frustration #sumbul’s father is going through. But #tina’s parents must be going through the same hurt & anger after listening to the call & abuses. IT WAS WRONG,” she tweeted.
‘Bigg Boss 16’ airs every Monday to Friday at 10.00 PM and every Saturday – Sunday at 9.30 PM on Colors and Voot.
