During a star-studded roundtable featuring acting stalwarts like Vijay Sethupathi, Arvind Swamy, Prakash Raj, and Vijay Varma, Sethupathi opened up about feeling insecure as an actor, especially after witnessing the remarkable work of Prakash and Arvind.

His candid confession sparked a lighthearted moment as Prakash and Arvind exchanged a playful, eyebrow-raising glance that has since gone viral. Adding to the humour, Vijay Sethupathi quipped to the host, “Sir, he is spoiling my interview! Please make him stand outside.”

Vijay Sethupathi on his insecurities as an actor

Speaking about his insecurities as an actor, Vijay Sethupathi revealed, “I never had that security in my mind. Not even now, sir. Because when I taste success and people start shouting when they see my face, I go, okay, ‘people like, accept.’ But still, I always commit seven, eight films in my career. Because I never, even the film is also good, I never depend on any success or anything."

He continued, "Because I always have that fear. It is not from the outside, it’s from the inside. Because what I know about my character and my career, and then how others are doing, when I see actors like, see, everybody, but I respect both of them [Arvind Swamy and Prakash Raj] very much. When I see their work now, I feel very insecure. And what was running in their mind, how can they do it so easily.”

As Arvind Swamy and Prakash Raj shared a cheeky look, Sethupathi added humor to the moment, pointing at Swamy and joking, “He is spoiling the interview. Seriously. He always does that. You make him stand outside.”
