Pranav Mohanlal, son of acclaimed Malayalam actor Mohanlal, is currently working on a farm in Spain, where he is part of a "Work Away" program that offers him food and lodging in return for his labour.  

Pranav Mohanlal is currently working in Spain

Pranav's mother, Suchitra, shared the information in an interview with Rekha Menon, revealing that he is taking care of animals and managing farm tasks—a life far removed from the media limelight or film industry. 

Despite being an award-winning actor, Pranav is known for his love of travel and literature, often shying away from public attention. His acting career began at a young age, with appearances in Onnaman (2002) and Punarjani (2003), the latter of which earned him the Kerala State Film Award for Best Child Artist. In 2018, he made a strong comeback with ‘Aadhi’, his first lead role, which became the highest-grossing Malayalam film of that year.

"He follows what he believes in"

Suchitra explained that Pranav values experiences like this more than financial gains. “Although people, including his cousins, often say that Pranav only listens to me, I don’t think that’s entirely true. He has his own ideas–he’s not stubborn, but he follows what he believes is right,” she said. 

Pranav has also starred in ‘Hridayam’ (2022), another box-office hit, and most recently in ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’ (2024).

He hasn’t committed to any upcoming film projects. “I am hearing some scripts every year, but Pranav is currently preoccupied with things other than movies,” Suchitra added. 

Pranav once mentioned his selective approach toward scripts, telling Mathrubhumi in 2016, “There has never been a script that attracted me enough to want to live it on reel.”
