Mohanlal Unveils First Look Poster From L2 Empuraan On His Birthday, Introduces His Character Khureshi Abraam

L2 Empuraan poster: On his birthday, actor Mohanlal gave his fans a sweet surprise. He is celebrating his 64th birthday today, May 21. Mohanlal unveiled the character poster from the Prithviraj Sukumaran directorial ‘L2: Empuraan’ on Tuesday. The actor will play the role of Khureshi Abraam in the second installment of the superhit film 'Lucifer'.

Mohanlal shares L2: Empuraan poster

Mohanlal took to Instagram to share his look as Khureshi Abraam from the film on Tuesday. The actor can be seen donning an all-black outfit as he walks among armed men. He flaunted a salt-and-pepper look with a beard and wore orange-tinted sunglasses.

The 2019 blockbuster featured Mohanlal as a politician named Stephen Nedumpally. However, reportedly, ‘L2: Empuraan’ will bring forth Stephen’s life as Khureshi Abraam.

About Mohanlal starrer L2: Empuraan

In a conversation with Film Companion, the director talked about Mohanlal’s role in the film. “You are not going to see Mohanlal wind up as mund and beat up people in a closed-down factory, that is not what I’m making. Maybe I’ll do one of those Bollywood-ish end title songs,” he said.

The sequel will also feature Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Nandu, and Saniya Iyappan, who will be reprising their roles from the movie. The upcoming film is being shot in Thiruvananthapuram. Recently, a leaked video from the sets showed a scene featuring Manju’s character at the National Investigation Agency office.

The Mohanlal starrer 'L2 Empuraan' is currently expected to hit theatres in 2025. It is the second installment of the planned trilogy, directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran. The film will release in five languages - Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.
