Mansoor Ali Khan Apologises For His Controversial Remark About Trisha Krishnan

Actor Mansoor Ali Khan has apologised for his derogatory comments about actor Trisha Krishnan. The actor’s apology came after he faced severe backlash for his comments from all quarters.

New Delhi: Actor Mansoor Ali Khan has apologised for his derogatory comments about actor Trisha Krishnan. The actor’s apology came after he faced severe backlash for his comments from all quarters including the actor herself. 

Mansoor Ali Khan released a statement which read, “My co-actress Trisha, Please forgive me! May God bless the fortune for me to bless your Mangalyam (marital necklace, mangalsutra) as it goes around in the coconut tray in the auspicious marital ritual! Amen. ---Mansoor Ali Khan"

 

In a media interaction, Mansoor Khan, who had a cameo in the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial Leo' starring Vijay, made derogatory remarks about not having any “bedroom scene with Trisha” during the film's shoot schedule in Kashmir.  

"When I heard that I was acting with Trisha, I thought there would be a bedroom scene in the film. I thought that I could carry her to the bedroom just like I did with other actresses in my earlier movies. I have done rape scenes in a number of movies and it's not new for me. But these guys didn't even show Trisha to me on the sets during the Kashmir schedule," Khan had said.

A case was registered against him by  Nungambakkam police under sections 354A and 509 of IPC. 

The All Women Police Station (AWPS) of Thousand Lights, Chennai, had issued summons to Mansoor Ali Khan for not appearing at the police station.

Trisha's reaction to Mansoor Khan's comment
Trisha had strongly condemned Khan’s comments calling it "sexist, disrespectful, misogynistic, repulsive and in bad taste" and said that she would never work with the actor again. 

"A recent video has come to my notice where Mr. Mansoor Ali Khan has spoken about me in a vile and disgusting manner. I strongly condemn this and find it sexist, disrespectful, misogynistic, repulsive, and in bad taste. 

"He can keep wishing but I am grateful never to have shared screen space with someone as pathetic as him and I will make sure it never happens for the rest of my film career as well. People like him bring a bad name to mankind," she wrote on X. 

Mansoor Ali Khan is perhaps best known for his role in ‘Captain Prabhakaran’ which led him to stardom. In addition, he has also done movies in Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam though he primarily acts in Tamil films.

Trisha who has gathered massive acclaim for her roles in films such as ‘96’, the ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ series, and ‘The Road’ among others will star in flicks such as ‘Vidda Muryarch’, and the Malayalam film ‘Ram: Part 1’.
