The 34-year-old collapsed during a mehendi function late Sunday night and was declared dead shortly after.

A native of Karkala in Udupi district, Rakesh was the son of Dinkar and Shambhavi Poojary. He rose to fame through his performances on Kannada television, particularly for his role in the serial Hitler Kalyana, and also featured in various other TV shows and films.

Rakesh Poojary’s Film Career
Rakesh Poojary began his artistic journey with the Chaitanya Kalavidaru theatre group, honing his craft on stage. He made his television debut in 2014 with the Tulu reality show Kadala Bajjilu, which aired on a private channel.
Rakesh Poojary rose to fame through the Kannada reality show Comedy Khiladigalu Season 3, where his performance won him widespread acclaim. After clinching the title in 2020, he became a familiar face in households across Karnataka. Prior to his win, he had also been part of the runner-up team in Season 2 of the show in 2018.
Over the years, he featured in several films, including Pailwaan and Idu Entha Lokavayya. His other notable works include Elkkele, Amar Police, Pamman the Great, and Umil.
