All India Students Federation Demands Legal Action Against Allu Arjun, Sreeleela For Misleading Ad

The All India Students’ Federation (AISF) Vijayawada chapter calls for cases against actors Allu Arjun and Sreeleela for allegedly promoting a misleading educational ad.

The All India Students’ Federation’s (AISF) Vijayawada chapter has raised a strong demand for legal action against popular actors Allu Arjun and Sreeleela for allegedly promoting a misleading advertisement for an educational institution. The student union has drawn parallels between this alleged promotion and the recent controversies surrounding celebrities endorsing betting apps on social media. The federation has urged authorities to initiate similar legal proceedings against these actors for what they claim is ruining the futures of unsuspecting students.

AISF video demanding action against Sreeleela, Allu Arjun

In a video statement released by the AISF, a representative displayed a front-page advertisement featuring both Allu Arjun and Sreeleela, endorsing a well-known educational institution. In the video, the representative alleged, “Actors like Sreeleela and Allu Arjun endorse some educational institutions and mislead students. They are claiming that no one but students at Sri Chaitanya get good ranks and are receiving superior education. They are taking hefty payments to promote such brands, and those who trust these endorsements are spending lakhs of rupees while dealing with numerous problems in the hostels.”

The AISF further demanded, “We insist that cases be filed against Sreeleela and Allu Arjun for damaging the careers and lives of countless students. The same kind of legal action that was recently taken against actors promoting betting apps should be applied here as well. These actors don’t even verify whether the students have truly achieved those ranks before agreeing to appear in such advertisements. We strongly demand that swift action be taken against them.”

Legal case against other South actors

It’s important to note that earlier in March 2025, legal cases had been registered against a number of popular actors including Rana Daggubati, Prakash Raj, Nidhhi Agerwal, Lakshmi Manchu, Pranitha Subash, and Vijay Deverakonda, in addition to 19 social media influencers. The complaint accused them of allegedly promoting betting apps via pop-up ads and social media handles. A businessman had filed the complaint, stating that these celebrity endorsements led to severe financial losses for several users.

As per a PTI report, a case had been filed under various sections of the BNS, Gaming Act, and IT Act on March 19, 2025. The AISF has called for similar legal measures against the endorsers of the controversial educational advertisement, stating that misleading students and parents for financial gains is a grave issue that demands immediate accountability.
