Sonam Kapoor Says that She Is Not Trying To Lose Her Weight. Says, 'I’m Not Even Pushing Myself– I’m Still Breastfeeding'
Sonam has stated in the latest interview with Grazia magazine that she is not "what she used to be" before having her child and that she is "not even pushing herself."
New Delhi: Sonam Kapoor's first child, Vayu was born in 2022, and in a recent interview, Sonam talked openly about her postpartum figure. The actor frequently talks about her pregnancy and motherhood on Instagram. She had also once discussed having a "natural, quick birth" and "breastfeeding pretty easily". Additionally, Sonam has stated in the latest interview that she is not "what she used to be" before having her child and that she is "not even pushing herself."
In a recent interview with Grazia magazine, Sonam shared, how she learnt to understand her body and said, "Some of my closest friends Pernia, Tamara , and Antara recently had babies, and they all advised me to take a year off and not stress myself about it. You have to be kind to yourself."
Kapoor further shared with Grazia magazine that for someone in her profession, she’s used to her body being a certain way, looking a certain way. "When you’re pregnant, you’re meant to be a certain size and fine with it – but after you deliver the baby, your body remains the same for a long time."
Talking about how expectations have often been unreal and unkind, Sonam told Grazia, "You look at yourself in all these videos which are super unflattering and taken on the phone – and you’re wondering to yourself – ‘am I really looking like that’? I’m not scared of anything in that sense, ageing or anything else – but I just don’t feel like myself. If I’m shooting, I send my measurements in advance – I don’t want to come back feeling like I’m not fitting into these tiny clothes – it plays a huge havoc on your self-confidence, to try and fit into things you would have fit into five or 10 years ago."
She also added that she is not back to what she used to be and that she’s not even pushing herself for she is still breastfeeding.
"I’m not back to what I used to be and I’m not even pushing myself– I’m still breastfeeding, and I hope to continue for at least a year. Your body needs food, rest, and energy while you’re doing that. I’m not on any crazy diet, I’m exercising– I exercised through my pregnancy– and being healthy. I took care of myself through my pregnancy and I’m going to continue doing that and not check the scales"
It's been seven months since Sonam Kapoor had her baby. Sonam was recently in Delhi with Anand and Vayu as they visited her in-laws and she also shared the pictures on Instagram. She wrote, "Welcoming our darling Vayu home to Delhi…"
