Shahid Kapoor To Make Digital Debut With 'Farzi' By 'The Family Man' Director Duo Raj & DK

Shahid Kapoor had earlier spoken about his character from the then untitled show and referred to him as 'Mumbai ka laundaa'.

New Delhi: Shahid Kapoor is currently basking in the praise of his performance in 'Jersey'. Even though 'Jersey' did not do so well on teh box office, Shahid's character has received appreciation from audiences and critics alike. Now, we have another reason to make the star's fans happy.

The actor will soon be making his digital debut with 'The Family Man' fame director-duo Raj & DK. The OTT show is titled 'Farzi' and will also feature Vijay Sethupathi and Kay Kay Menon.

Shahid shared his excitement about making his debut on OTT platforms with Raj & DK with Pinkvilla. He said, "It's so different from what we do in movies. I am nervous but excited. I always wanted to do something challenging and different. This story and character to me match every film that I have done. I can't wait for the audience to see it.” 

The director duo also spoke about copying their 'Family Man' success formula and said, "We have tried to copy our success formula. But then we thought we won't be original. So we have done something new. We hope, the series is as successful as Family Man."

Shahid had earlier spoken about his character from the then untitled show and referred to him as 'Mumbai ka laundaa'. The 41-year old had said that he could relate to the character who is a boy from the streets of Mumbai.

The ‘Haider’ actor also had previously spoken of the days he traveled with choreographer Shiamak Davar in local trains and tried to save money. He compared his life from then to the character he will now be playing in ‘Farzi’.

Amazon Prime Video India took to their Instagram handle to announce the news of this collaboration.
