Satish Kaushik's Last Tweet Was From Holi Party At Javed Akhtar's Residence: 'Colourful Happy Fun'

Veteran Bollywood actor and director Satish Kaushik passed away at 66 on Thursday (March 9). The actor’s last post on Twitter was pictures from a Holi party he attended on March 7.

New Delhi: Veteran Bollywood actor and director Satish Kaushik passed away at 66 on Thursday (March 9). According to Anupam Kher, Kaushik was at a friend's home in Delhi when he complained of uneasiness.

"He felt uneasy and he told driver to take him to the hospital and on the way he suffered a heart attack around 1 am," Kher told PTI.

The actor's mortal remains will be taken to Mumbai following the post-mortem, where his last rites will be performed. 

The actor’s last post on Twitter was pictures from a Holi party he attended on March 7. The actor was a part of Javed Akhtar’s Holi celebrations attended by many industry celebrities, including Richa Chadha, Ali Fazal, Divya Datta, Mahima Chaudhary and others. 

Satish posted pictures with Ali Fazal, Richa Chadha, Mahima Chaudhry, and Javed. In the photos, Satish was seen in an orange coloured T-shirt and white pants.  

He captioned the post, "Colourful Happy Fun #Holi party at Janki Kutir Juhu by @Javedakhtarjadu @babaazmi @AzmiShabana @tanviazmi.. met the newly wed beautiful couple @alifazal9 @RichaChadha.. wishing Happy Holi to everyone (rose and hibiscus emojis)."   

 

Actor Anupam Kher shared the news of Satish Kaushik’s death early Thursday morning. Anupam Kher wrote, "जानता हूँ “मृत्यु ही इस दुनिया का अंतिम सच है!” पर ये बात मैं जीते जी कभी अपने जिगरी दोस्त #SatishKaushik के बारे में लिखूँगा, ये मैंने सपने में भी नहीं सोचा था।45 साल की दोस्ती पर ऐसे अचानक पूर्णविराम !! Life will NEVER be the same without you SATISH ! ओम् शांति! 💔💔💔 #SatishKaushik #Friend" 

 

Born in Haryana, Kaushik was an alumnus of the NSD and the FTII, and started his film career in the early 1980s. 
 
He penned the dialogues for the 1983 classic "Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron", which acquired a cult following over the years. 
 
He is known for his comic roles as 'Calendar' in "Mr India", 'Pappu Pager' in "Deewana Mastana" among many others. 
 
Kaushik also gave sterling performances in other films like "Ram Lakhan" and "Saajan Chale Sasural". 
 
He directed Sridevi's film, "Roop Ki Rani, Choron Ka Raja" and later "Prem", both disasters, but he got his big hit with "Hum Aapke Dil Me Rehte Hain" and also "Tere Sang", among many others.
