Sanjeev Kapoor Delivers Food To 20,000 Healthcare Workers Amid COVID-19 Crisis

Mumbai: Renowned chef Sanjeev Kapoor has taken up the initiative to help health workers and COVID-19 warriors across the country. For the past few days, Sanjeev Kapoor has been delivering food to 20,000 doctors, nurses, ward boys and other medical staff daily by partnering with world-renowned 'World Central Kitchen' and Taj Hotels.

Currently, Sanjeev Kapoor is working with Taj Hotels and World Central Kitchen founder OJ Andres to deliver food to government hospitals in 10 cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Gurugram, Varanasi, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Goa.

Today, at Taj Sats Hotel in Mumbai, food was being prepared for health workers across the country. Sanjeev Kapoor was also present and during a conversation with ABP News, the chef told, “We had also helped people during the Corona period last year. This time our effort is to deliver food to health workers. It is not that these health workers do not get food, we are trying to encourage them on our behalf and bring smiles on their faces through delicious food.”

Sanjeev Kapoor added, “We started by first delivering food to 1,000, then 2,000, then 5,000 health workers. We have now increased it to 20,000, but in the coming days our goal is to reach food to one lakh health workers, which we achieve soon.”

Chef OJ Andrés, who spoke to ABP News, said that the founder of the organization provides relief to people worldwide during a natural disaster. He told, “The people of India need us during this crisis. We need to help them in every way. Keeping this in mind, I joined hands with Sanjeev Kapoor and started a campaign to deliver food to the health workers of the country.”

Sanjeev Kapoor further revealed that anyone can help people during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic. He told, “If you are cooking for yourself in the family, you can cook for two to four needy people around you and feed them. Help people fight the pandemic by wearing masks and following other corona guidelines. Every person can fulfil their responsibility in this way.”
