Salman Khan Gets Y+ Security After Threats From Lawrence Bishnoi Gang; Akshay, Anupam Get X Category Security

The Maharashtra government has upgraded the security of Salman Khan to the Y+ category following the threat from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

New Delhi: The Maharashtra government has upgraded the security of Salman Khan to the Y+ category following the threat from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Actors Akshay Kumar and Anupam Kher have also been reportedly given X-category security cover. 

According to a report in Mid-Day, the cost of the security will be borne by these celebs. Salman will have four-armed security personnel on his person at all times and Akshay and Anupam will have three security officers in shifts protecting him. 

Salman Khan and his father Salim Khan had received a letter in June threatening that both the father-son due would meet the fate of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, who was shot dead in May this year, after which the actor's security was tightened. The actor was also issued a gun license after the threat. Salman also recently upgraded his Toyota Land Cruiser SUV with armour and bulletproof glass due to the death threat.   

Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi had confessed during his interrogation in connection with the assassination of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala that he wanted to kill Salman Khan in 2018 over the blackbuck poaching case.  Bishnoi had confessed that he sent a member of his gang, Sampat Nehra, to shoot the actor in 2018.    

Lawrence Bishnoi gang also had a plan B ready for killing the actor. According to sources, the Bishnoi gang had planned to kill Salman near his Panvel farmhouse and had carried out a recce of the place several times.  Punjab Police had revealed that the plan was led by Goldy Brar and Kapil Pandit, a shooter of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang 

Kapil Pandit along with Santosh Jadhav and Deepak Mundi and two other shooters had rented a room in Panvel where they lived for one and a half months. During this duration, they did a recce of the actor’s farmhouse. They had small arms pistol cartridges to attack the actor.  

According to the Mid-Day report, Anupam Kher was given security cover after he received threats following the release of his film The Kashmir Files and Akshay was granted security because of social media threats over his nationality.
