Rajiv Kapoor Death: Brother Randhir Kapoor Says ‘Unfortunate He Could Not Be Saved’

The doctors declared Rajiv Kapoor dead even before admitting him in the hospital, reveals Randhir Kapoor. Read on.

Mumbai: In an unfortunate turn of events, Rajiv Kapoor passed away earlier today after suffering a cardiac arrest. According to media reports, the younger brother of Bollywood actors Randhir Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor was admitted to Inlaks Hospital near his residence in Chembur.

Elder brother Randhir Kapoor told ABP News, “After he suffered a heart attack at home, he was taken to Inlaks hospital but the doctors declared him dead even before admission. It's unfortunate he could not be saved. We are taking him home now and will conduct the funeral today evening at a crematorium in Chembur.”

Popularly known as Chimpu Kapoor, his death was first confirmed by his sister-in-law Neetu Kapoor as she took to her Instagram and shared a post.

Many celebrities mourned the loss of the actor as they paid a tribute on their social media.

Well, last year, the Kapoor family lost two of their members, Rishi Kapoor and Ritu Nanda. Within a span of one year, another bad news came their way with the ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’ actor’s death. While Rishi Kapoor passed away after fighting a long battle with cancer on April 30, 2020, Rajiv Kapoor passed away on Tuesday (February 9, 2021) at around 1 pm.

The late actor Rajiv Kapoor was born to Bollywood actor Raj Kapoor and Krishna Kapoor. The ‘Zimmedaar’ actor was the youngest among three brothers and two sisters -- Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Ritu Nanda and Rima Jain.

Rajiv Kapoor set off his foot in Bollywood as a lead actor in the 1985 movie ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’. He made his directorial debut with the 1996 film ‘PremGranth’ which starred Rishi Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit in the lead roles. He also produced the film ‘Aa Ab Laut Chalen’ in the year 1999. His last appearance as an actor was in the 1990 movie ‘Zimmedaar’.
