Raj Kundra Arrested For Making Porn Videos, Know What Is The Punishment Under IT Act

Actress Shilpa Shetty's husband Raj Kundra has been arrested by the Crime Branch team of Mumbai Police. He is accused of making porn movies.

Mumbai: Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty's husband and businessman Raj Kundra has been arrested by the Crime Branch team of Mumbai Police. Police say that Raj Kundra has been arrested for making pornographic films and streaming them on some apps. The police have claimed that they have a lot of evidence against Raj Kundra. 

Raj Kundra is a businessman and his arrest has surprised people that the husband of a famous Bollywood actress is involved in such an activity under the guise of business. Raj Kundra is being interrogated under police custody. Let us inform you that in such cases, the accused is booked under sections of the IT Act and the Indian Penal Code (IPC). 

Anti Pornography Law under the IT Act

The IT Act has undergone a lot of changes given the growing trend of the internet and social media. In fact, in today's era, pornography and morphology have become a business on the Internet. It includes objectionable photos, videos, messages, audio, and other content. Anti-pornography law has been made in the country to stop this on the Internet.

Making and sharing pornographic videos is a crime

At the same time, it is illegal to make the news or obscene videos or pictures of others and share them with any electronic medium, give or publish it to anyone. It is considered a crime.  Both these allegations are against Raj Kundra. Therefore, after the charges are proved against him, action will be taken based on these laws. 

Punishment under IT Act and IPC

In such cases, there is a provision for punishment under Section 67 (A) of the IT (Amendment) Act 2008 and Section 292, 293, 294, 500, 506, and 509 of the IPC. Depending on the gravity of the offense, the punishment may extend to 5 years in jail or a fine of up to Rs 10 lakh. However, if a person commits such a crime again, he can be punished with imprisonment of up to 7 years. If the charges against Raj Kundra are proved, then he would be penalized.
