Pratik Gandhi 'Humiliated' As He Walks To Shoot Location Due To VIP Movement In Mumbai

Pratik was travelling in the city suburbs, to reach his shoot location.

New Delhi: Actor Pratik Gandhi, who is best known for the web-series 'Scam 1992', had a 'humiliating' experience on Sunday, courtesy the Mumbai traffic due to VIP movement. The actor was travelling in the city suburbs, to reach his shoot location. However, the city's crucial Western Express Highway (WEH) was blocked, owing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit in the city. The PM had flown to Mumbai on Sunday to receive the first Lata Deenanath Mageshkar Award, given by the legendary singer's family.

Taking to his Twitter handle on Saturday evening, Pratik shared that given the traffic congestion on the highway and the vehicles moving at a snail-pace, he eventually began walking. He also stated in his tweet that he felt "humiliated" after he was almost oushed into a warehouse by a policeman, for no valid reason.

His tweet read as, "Mumbai WEH is jammed coz of “VIP” movement, I started walking on the roads to reach the shoot location and Police caught me by shoulder and almost pushed me in some random marble warehouse to wait till without any discussion. #humiliated"

Pratik's tweet triggered a twitter war among several users, who talked about the hassles the common public has to face due to VIP movements. Sharing pictures of the jam-packed highway, one twitter user wrote, "Pratik - we live in the society where the common man foots the bill for VVIP + pays the price. The joke is on us."

Several users also came out in support of the VIP movement, telling everyone how the security of our Prime Minister is of utmost importance.

On the work front, Pratik Gandhi recently announced his next film 'Phule', starring Patralekhaa. Sharing the film's poster, Pratik wrote, "Honoured to take Mahatma Phule’s legacy to the world as an actor along with @Patralekhaa in #Phule On the occasion of 195th birth anniversary of Jyotiba Phule, unveiling the first look of ‘Phule’, the Hindi biopic, directed by @ananthmahadevan"

Pratik also has an interesting line-up of projects in his kitty, including 'Woh Ladki Hai Kahan' opposite Taapsee Pannu.
