Yeh Meri Family Season 3 Review: 90s Magic Is Missing In This Otherwise Enjoyable Season

While viewers may relate to the Awasthi family in the third season of 'Yeh Meri Family' , the charm that defined the first season seems somewhat diluted.

New Delhi: Amidst a plethora of crime thrillers, emerges a show that takes us down memory lane to the days when conversations with friends and family held more significance than phone screens. It's that era when the anticipation of summer vacations and the nervousness of facing your crush for the first time were paramount. Such were the nostalgic recollections evoked by TVF's show, 'Yeh Meri Family,' when its first season debuted. Now, with Season 3 released on Amazon Mini TV, the Awasthi family returns to offer glimpses of their lives.

Story
Set in 1995, the story revolves around the daily hustle and bustle of the Awasthi family. While the cast underwent changes in the second season, with Rajesh Kumar and Juhi Parmar portraying the parents' roles, this time, the cast remains the same, but the narrative unfolds through the eyes of 11-year-old Rishi (Angad Raj). Each episode presents a new anecdote - from the joy of playing Holi to the mischief of children and navigating the complexities of young friendships. These episodes are reminiscent of laughter-filled memories and moments of nostalgia. The season spans five episodes, each lasting around 30 to 40 minutes.

Series Overview
While viewers may relate to the Awasthi family, the charm that defined the first season seems somewhat diluted. The focus of the story remains primarily on the family dynamics, albeit without the same allure of the 90s era that captivated audiences in the initial season. However, those who enjoyed the second season are likely to appreciate this one as well, as it continues to evoke fond childhood memories and features commendable performances from the cast.

Acting
Angad Raj shines as the star of this season, portraying the character of Rishi with endearing innocence. His adorable antics are bound to win hearts, while Juhi Parmar and Rajesh Kumar deliver stellar performances once again. Hetal Gada as Ritika, Rishi's older sister, also leaves a lasting impression, offering glimpses of sibling dynamics that resonate with many.

Direction and Production
Despite showcasing captivating emotions, the loose writing fails to capture the nostalgic charm and magic of the 90s era, which was the hallmark of the show's earlier seasons. However, the production quality and cinematography are commendable, effectively capturing emotional scenes and transporting viewers back in time to relive cherished moments.

Verdict
Watching this season with your family might evoke nostalgia and enable you to reconnect with the simpler times that often get lost in today's busy lives.
