The much-anticipated second season of 'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power' has already released three episodes on Amazon Prime Video, captivating fans worldwide. ABP Entertainment Live had the chance to engage in an exclusive interview with the show's stars, Ismael Cruz Córdova and Tyroe Muhafidin.

What the stars would do if they got Rings of Power

When asked what would they do if they were given the Rings of Power—both actors had intriguing responses. Ismael Cruz Córdova said, "If I had the power of the ring, I would teleport away from this world." Meanwhile, Tyroe Muhafidin shared, "If I got the Rings of Power, I would use its power to make it so I never had to lie."

On intense preparation for the stunts

The conversation then shifted to the intense preparation required for the many stunts featured in the series. When asked how much time was spent preparing for these stunts, Ismael Cruz Córdova explained, "The preparation for the show depends entirely on the sequence we’re filming. In the first season, I had no idea what was coming. I was the first to do wire work, and it was all new to me. I spent months learning these skills, training for six to seven months just for a two- to three-minute fight scene. We needed to understand the purpose behind every move, every sword grip—what’s the story behind it? There’s a lot that goes into it. The stunts I performed were not easy. In this season, my first entrance involved a particularly challenging stunt, something I recently learned, and it's a type of wire work that even many seasoned action actors can’t do. So, this entire year has been dedicated to practice. I’ve been training non-stop because...you have to be prepared."

On sustaining injuries while filming

When asked if he sustained any injuries during the filming, Ismael shared an amusing story, "That’s why you train...to avoid such things. The tricky part is...I made it through the entire first season without any injuries—except on the very last day. I was perfectly fine until I slipped while coming out of the bathroom. That’s how I got hurt...just while coming out of the bathroom. But throughout the entire season, I didn’t get injured doing anything else."

For Tyroe Muhafidin, this series marks his first major role, having previously worked in a few short films. When asked how it felt to be part of such a massive project, he expressed his gratitude, "I’m extremely grateful to be a part of this. I can’t even express how thankful I am."

Tyroe Muhafidin on visiting India

Tyroe also shared his experience of visiting India, saying, "Two years ago, we went to Mumbai for a show. It was amazing. India is such a welcoming country."

Ismael Cruz's favourite Indian actor

Ismael Cruz Córdova also revealed that his favourite Indian actor is Priyanka Chopra, with whom he has had the opportunity to work.

The three episodes released on Prime Video have received positive responses from audiences, further fueling excitement for the rest of the season.
