The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 2: Alia Bhatt Episode Has Less Viewership Than Ranbir Kapoor's Season 1 Premiere

As per Netflix's Global Top 10 List, 'The Great Indian Kapil Show', claimed number eight position on the non-English TV list for last week, with 1.2 million views and 1.4 million viewing hours. 

New Delhi: 'The Great Indian Kapil Show' is now in its second season. The show's first season premiered with Ranbir Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, and the second season's premiere had Alia Bhatt, Vedang Raina, Karan Johar and Vasan Bala as guests.

They were all promoting theur upcoming film 'Jigra'. However, it seems that this episode did not generate the kind of buzz the first episode generated last season. As per Netflix's Global Top 10 List, 'The Great Indian Kapil Show', which debuted on September 22 claimed number eight position on the non-English TV list for last week, with 1.2 million views and 1.4 million viewing hours. 

That is half of what the first episode featuring Ranbir Kapoor generated on its premiere. That episode debuted inside the top three spot with a viewership of 2.4 million.

The viewership of the first season went down after the first episode itself. In week two of the first season, the show had slipped to the fifth spot. And, in the third week, despite Diljit Dosanjh's presence onf the show, the show slipped to a further 7th spot. That time the viewership was 1.7 million.

In the first season, celebrities such as Vicky Kaushal-Sunny Kaushal, Aamir Khan, Bobby Deol, Sunny Deol, Anil Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Ed Sheera, Mary Kom, Sania Mirza, Rajkummar Rao and Farah Khan, and the cast of 'Heeramandi' graced the show.

Despite the falling numbers, makers of the show had a success bash at the end of the fourth week. In the celebration, the entire cast and crew, including Kapil Sharma, Archana Puran Singh and Sunil Grover, gathered to celebrate the show's streaming in 192 countries.

Meanwhile, in the upcoming episode of the show, Devara's cast Jr. NTR, Saif Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor will be seen on the show. This also marks Jr. NTR's second appearance on the Kapil Sharma Show, after debuting during the promotions of 'RRR'. 

Ahaead of the episode release, the makers of the show dropped a couple of teasers featuring the cast of Jr. NTR. Saif Ali Khan, and Janhvi Kapoor.
