Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina Called For Another Round Of Questioning By Maharashtra Cyber Cell

Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina are to be called for questioning to record their statements before the Maharashtra Cyber Office today (February 28).

In the latest developments around Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina's case after controversial statements during the comedy show 'India's Got Latent' on YouTube, the two are to be called for questioning to record their statements before the Maharashtra Cyber cell. Apoorva Makheja, who was a guest on the show when Ranveer Allahbadia, aka Beer Biceps, made his parental intercourse remark is also likely to be called for questioning on Friday, Feb 28, 2025.

All three have been asked to appear before the cyber cell at a designated time, India Today reported.

What happened at India’s Got Latent?

It all began with Allahbadia's appearance on the comedy show when he asked a contestant an inappropriate question involving body parts and proposed an exchange for Rs. 2 cr. The question he asked was, "Would you watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join once to stop it forever?"

After massive social media backlash, a police complaint was also filed against show host Samay Raina, Ranveer Allahbadia and several co-judges, including Jaspreet Singh, Apoorva Makhija, and Ashish Chanchlani. The FIR accused them of promoting obscene and sexually explicit content, besides also invoking multiple sections of the  Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Ranveer Allabadia apologised

After the massive storm of responses, Ranveer shared a public apology via a video statement, saying, "My comment wasn’t just inappropriate, it wasn’t even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I am just here to say sorry. Many of you asked if this is how I wish to use my platform and obviously, this is not how I wish to use it. I am not going to give any context, justification or reasoning behind whatever happened. I am just here for an apology."

After Allahbadia's comment and the entire controversy, Samay Raina deleted all India's Got Latent episodes from YouTube.
