Karan Johar Asks Sidharth And Varun Why They Are Not Friends, Alia Thanks Sid For Giving ‘First Love’ Of Her Life

The latest episode of the eighth season of the celebrity chat show 'Koffee With Karan' featured actors Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra on the couch.

New Delhi: The latest episode of the eighth season of the celebrity chat show 'Koffee With Karan' featured actors Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra on the couch. The two actors made their Bollywood debut together with Karan Johar’s Student of the Year in 2012. During the episode, Karan asked them why they are not friends despite starting their journey together in the film industry.

Karan asked, “The two of you have had so much in common. You’ve assisted on a film, debuted with the same film, why is it that you’re not friends?” Sidharth admitted that though they are not friends, they always get back to were they had left when they meet. He also said that it is difficult for two actors to be friends. “Whenever we meet at a party, even recently, the first line doesn’t have to be about hi, hello, how are you, it becomes about something else,” he said on the show.

Varun on the other hand said, “Why is it we’re not friends? We’re not enemies either. We’re always going to be bonded. It happens in films. When you work a lot with people, you just end up spending more time with that person. Your life becomes connected because of that. I think maybe me and Sid have spoken more frequently because I happened to work with his now spouse, Kiara. So, automatically the topics come up.”

He added, “It’s not only me, my family is very fond of Sid. Whether it’s dad, whether it’s Rohit. Rohit loves Sid a lot. In fact, when they meet, they have a great time by themselves.”

Sidharth and Varun had made their debut alongside Alia Bhatt. The three of them had made their first appearance on the show together which is famous for Alia’s gaffe where she misnamed the President of India.

Alia also made an appearance via video where she spoke about both the actors. Alia thanked Sidharth for giving her ‘the first love’ of her life, her cat Edward.

Alia said, “Sid is actually a really good singer. He is a very healthy person, so he doesnt party at all, but he is the best person to get a party started, so this is the inherent punjabi in him. He just knows how to get people going, he's really good. Also, he is really hilarious, he is the first person to fall asleep at his own birthday party.”

She added, “Sid takes a while to open up, so there is a distance, says hi hello, very chivalrous, very well mannered, that's generally how he is. The basic thing is that he has got very warm and kind eyes. That is also why he has such a massive fan following. I am very thankful to Sid, because he has given me the first love of my life, Edward.”
