Kankhajura Review: This Mohit Raina's Creepy Thriller Slowly Crawls Into Your Mind And Messes With It

Featuring Roshan Mathew and Mohit Raina, 'Kankhajura' captivates audiences with its compelling storyline and exhilarating thrills, making it a must-watch.

Kankhajura, meaning Centipede, may seem weak and vulnerable at first—something you think you can easily squash whenever you want. But once it creeps inside your mind, it doesn’t let go. This SonyLIV series works the same way: slow to start, gradually pulling you in, and once it grips your brain, it’s hard to shake off.

Based on the Israeli series Magpie, Kankhajura offers a fresh and thrilling experience, delivering a strong message to bullies and those who intimidate others—one they won’t forget.

Kankhajura Plot

The story revolves around two brothers, Max (Mohit Raina) and Ashu (Roshan Mathew). Due to something Max, Ashu, and their friends do, Ashu ends up in jail. When Ashu returns, chaos erupts in Max’s life. Is there a connection to their past? Who or what is the centipede that invades one life and changes everything? You’ll have to watch to find out.

Series Overview

Kankhajura is a compelling series that tries something new. Though slow-paced, it gradually builds momentum and surprises with its twists and turns that can leave you reeling. Some parts could have been simplified, and a few questions remain unanswered, leaving viewers pondering. A simpler screenplay might have made it more engaging. The show demands your full attention—you can’t multitask while watching, or you’ll miss important details.

Overall, it’s entertaining and especially great for thriller lovers. The series also delivers a strong message: don’t bully anyone because you never know how far the bullied might go.

Performances

Mohit Raina delivers a remarkable performance, playing a very different and intense role with full commitment. Roshan Mathew shines as Ashu, a character so unique and complex that you’ll find his portrayal unforgettable. Sara Jane Dias brings natural charm, while Trinetra Haldar impresses with her distinct and strong presence.

Supporting actors Ninad Kamat and Mahesh Shetty play Max’s friends convincingly. The entire cast feels natural and believable, making the acting appear effortless.

Writing and Direction

Written by Chandan Arora and Upendra Siddhaye, and directed by Chandan Arora, the series is creatively crafted and keeps you hooked. However, a simpler narrative might have enhanced the experience.
