Indian Police Force Review: Sidharth Malhotra, Shilpa Shetty Starrer Is A Typical Rohit Shetty Entertainer

Watching the 7 episodes of Indian Police Force feels like experiencing three Rohit Shetty films in one.

Indian Police Force
Web series on Prime Video
Rating: ***
When the trailer for 'Indian Police Force' was unveiled, the applause was the loudest during Rohit Shetty's entry. Though Rohit is a filmmaker, his stature is akin to that of a superstar, thanks to his unique style and devoted fan following. When Rohit Shetty makes a film, it becomes his project more than the actors in it. The recently released web series on Amazon Prime, 'Indian Police Force', has Rohit Shetty written all over it.

Plot
The series unfolds in Delhi, where blasts create an atmosphere of terror. Delhi Police struggles to apprehend terrorists but fails, leading them to spread the terror to other cities. Siddharth Malhotra as Kabir Malik, Vivek Oberoi as Inspector Vikram, and Shilpa Shetty as Tara Shetty join forces to solve the case and catch the terrorists. While the storyline isn't groundbreaking, Rohit Shetty presents it in his signature style.

How is the web series
Watching this 7-episode web series feels like experiencing three Rohit Shetty films in one. Explosive car sequences, numerous blasts, and action galore, everything that defines Rohit Shetty's films. However, what is shown here is not something new or different; it is what we have seen in his films or in similar projects by other filmmakers. Some surprising twists keep you hooked, but if you are a fan of Rohit Shetty's cop universe, you won't be disappointed.

Acting
Siddharth Malhotra, Vivek Oberoi, and Shilpa Shetty all deliver good performances. Rohit Shetty has done what he promised, and Shilpa Shetty looks fantastic in action sequences. Siddharth and Vivek have played similar roles before and do a decent job here as well.

Direction
Rohit Shetty directs the series in his signature style. He attempts to infuse all the masala elements for which he is known. However, he sticks to his comfort zone, avoiding any risky deviations. This might be a conscious decision given the success of his cop universe with films like Singham, Simmba, and Sooryavanshi.

Shortcomings
The dialogues in the web series lack strength, and there is a slight deficit in emotional depth. While the action is top-notch, some aspects, like the depiction of how a terrorist is created, could have been handled with more finesse.

Rohit Shetty fans will enjoy this web series, finding it entertaining and consistent with his style.
