Following the resounding success of 'Dahaad', the gripping crime drama that left audiences hooked with its powerful storytelling and intense performances, a second season is officially on the way. The series, which featured Sonakshi Sinha, Gulshan Devaiah, and Vijay Varma in prominent roles, has been greenlit for Season 2, as per a report by The Hollywood Reporter.

A source close to the production told THR, Dahaad 2 is on, and the team is working on the script. Prime Video is aiming to mount the show on a big scale, as the first season did extremely well, garnering immense praise. The work is underway, and the team will figure out a shooting timeline soon.”

Soon after the report was published, Sonakshi and Gulshan took to Instagram to share their excitement. Reposting the update on her Stories, Sonakshi added, “Finally!!! Can’t wait to get back in that uniform,” tagging creators Reema Kagti, Zoya Akhtar, and Prime Video.

Gulshan Devaiah, too, shared the news on his Instagram Stories with a humorous twist, writing, “Now... where did I keep that uniform,” along with three thinking emojis.

About Dahaad

Created by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti, 'Dahaad' stood out for its raw and realistic portrayal of crime and justice, set in rural Rajasthan. The story followed two local police officers, played by Sonakshi and Gulshan, as they investigate the chilling disappearance of 27 women. Vijay Varma portrayed the chilling antagonist, earning widespread praise for his performance, while Sohum Shah also played a key supporting role.

Directed by Reema Kagti and Ruchika Oberoi, the series broke new ground by becoming the first Indian web series to premiere at the prestigious Berlin International Film Festival, where it was nominated for the Berlinale Series Award.

The show debuted on Amazon Prime Video on May 12, 2023, and was inspired by the real-life crimes of Mohan Kumar—infamously dubbed "Cyanide Mohan"—a serial killer who lured women with false promises of marriage before murdering them.
