About Dahaad
Created by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti, 'Dahaad' stood out for its raw and realistic portrayal of crime and justice, set in rural Rajasthan. The story followed two local police officers, played by Sonakshi and Gulshan, as they investigate the chilling disappearance of 27 women. Vijay Varma portrayed the chilling antagonist, earning widespread praise for his performance, while Sohum Shah also played a key supporting role.
Directed by Reema Kagti and Ruchika Oberoi, the series broke new ground by becoming the first Indian web series to premiere at the prestigious Berlin International Film Festival, where it was nominated for the Berlinale Series Award.
The show debuted on Amazon Prime Video on May 12, 2023, and was inspired by the real-life crimes of Mohan Kumar—infamously dubbed "Cyanide Mohan"—a serial killer who lured women with false promises of marriage before murdering them.
