Speaking about the film's upcoming OTT release, director Payal Kapadia shared her excitement, saying, "I am thrilled at the love All We Imagine As Light has received from all of you. The film recently garnered significant attention, securing two Golden Globe nominations. It was nominated for Best Motion Picture – Non-English Language, and Payal Kapadia received a nomination for Best Director, making her only the third woman director from Asia to be nominated in this category. The film also received a nomination for Best Foreign Language Film at the Critics Choice Awards.
All We Imagine As Light, starring Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha, Chhaya Kadam, Hridhu Haroon, and Azees Nedumangad, delves into the lives of two Malayali nurses living in Mumbai. This film made history as the first Indian film in 30 years to compete in the main competition at the Cannes Film Festival, where it ultimately won the Grand Prix.
The film had previously been a topic of discussion after India’s official entry for the 2025 Oscars, Laapataa Ladies, failed to make the shortlist. Many fans and critics voiced their opinion that ‘All We Imagine As Light’ should have been selected instead.
