‘We Were Supposed To Get Engaged’: Yami Gautam Reveals Why She Had An 'Impromptu' Wedding With Aditya Dhar

For their honeymoon, Yami Gautam and Aditya Dhar plan to take both their families for a vacation. Read on.

Mumbai: Bollywood diva Yami Gautam recently got married to director Aditya Dhar in an intimate ceremony. The wedding was attended by their immediate friends and family members in Himachal Pradesh.

However, while giving an interview to a news portal, the ‘Bhoot Police’ actress revealed that the couple was not planning to get married. In fact, they were just supposed to get engaged and both the families were equally happy. Yami was quoted saying by Film Companion during an interaction, “We were just supposed to get engaged, and then we were going to let time take its due course. But my nani was like ‘This engagement and all is not a part of our culture, so how about getting married?’ Then Aditya asked, ‘Are you ready? Shall we?’”. The ‘Dasvi’ actor further added, “And I said, ‘Yeah. Okay. Let’s do it at our home in Himachal.’ And we just went for it.”

The ‘Lost’ actress also disclosed in her interview that due to the ongoing pandemic, Yami and Aditya did not see their wedding happening this year. Yami then said that though unplanned, she thinks this is the wedding she wanted.

Yami also disclosed how Aditya and she got closer during ‘URI: The Surgical Strike’ promotions and they started knowing each other. Talking about her honeymoon plans, Yami and Aditya plan to take both their families for a vacation.

Meanwhile, speaking on the work front, Yami Gautam has a number of projects lined up for release – ‘Bhoot Police’, ‘Dasvi’, ‘A Thursday’ and ‘Lost’. Other than that, she revealed during the interview that she has three more projects in her kitty.
