Wanted to make 'A Flying Jatt' in 3D, says Remo

Mumbai: Filmmaker Remo D'Souza says he initially planned to make his upcoming superhero film  "A Flying Jatt" in 3D, but eventually dropped the idea.   Remo, 44, who previously directed the dance-based franchise  "ABCD" in 3D, said since he was trying his hands in action for the first time and decided to leave the idea of using 3D.   "I wanted to make it in 3D. Of course we all started out making (the film) with the thought that we will make this one in 3D.   "But because this was a first time, I was touching action, I said I'll make this one and then God willing, may be sequel will be in 3D," he said.   The director was speaking at the launch of "Beat Pe Booty" song from the film here last evening.   The movie, releasing on August 25, stars Tiger Shroff in the lead role of a man with supernatural powers and features Jacqueline Fernandez as his love interest.   It is the fourth directorial venture of Remo, who previously helmed movies such as "Faltu" and two installments of "ABCD".   The choreographer-turned-filmmaker says "A Flying Jatt" is a superhero movie with a human touch, which he hopes people will enjoy.   "It is a different kind of a superhero movie. I have reversed everything which happens in a superhero film. It has comedy, problems faced by superhero, how costume is made. It is a human kind of a story," he said.   While many films have been made on superheroes in Hollywood, Remo said he wasn't inspired by the West and has instead added a 'desi' twist to the film.   "From day one I knew I had to make a superhero movie and I wanted an Indian superhero. I didn't want to copy a Hollywood character. If I have made a dance film of that level then I can make a superhero film too of that level," he said.   "They (Hollywood) have big films, with big budgets. But we had the required budget for this film. So we have made it in a perfect way," the director added.   Produced under the banner of Balaji Motion Pictures, the film also features professional wrestler Nathan Jones in a negative role.
