Aishwarya Rai Bachcha came to know about the controversial meme by Vivek Oberoi while she was at Cannes Film Festival 2019 & she had a role to play in Abhishek Bachchan not getting furious over it too

The election meme shared by Vivek Oberoi early this week got the actor into controversy and he finally did have to delete the tweet and also apologize for it the following day after he was slammed by the fans, fraternity and even National Commission for Women sent him a notice. The meme carried pictures of Aishwarya with her exes Salman Khan and Vivek along with her husband Abhishek Bachchan in a collage to explain what 'Opinion Poll', 'Exit Poll' and 'Result' meant. The very distasteful tweet drew flak from actors like Sonam Kapoor, Anupam Kher, Esha Gupta, Urmila Matondkar and others. The Bachchan couple along with Amitabh Bachchan however remained tight-lipped on the matter but now latest reports claim that Aishwarya was behind the silence from the family. TOI reports: Aishwarya came to know about the episode while she was at the Cannes Film Festival 2019 and was really perplexed over Vivek's disparaging tweet. However, the actress understood Vivek's ploy to gain publicity for his upcoming film, the Narendra Modi biopic. Aishwarya Rai was quick enough to calm down her husband and give him the undue publicity.

Abhishek otherwise remains calm but we have seen how he tackles the troll often at social media and it is a given that if Aishwarya hadn't interfered, Jr Bachchan would've given it back to Vivek in the most suitable manner. While Aishwara and Abhishek chose not to react in this matter, her ex-flame Salman Khan with whom she shares a very controversial and ugly past, did however respond to the question when a reporter asked him to give his reaction to Vivek's tweet in a media interaction post the incident.
