Chhaava becomes biggest hit of 2025
Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Chhaava’ has emerged as the biggest hit of 2025, marking a career milestone for the actor. Since its release on February 14, the film faced little competition at the box office, enjoying an uninterrupted six-week run before the release of Salman Khan's ‘Sikandar’ on March 30. While films like The Diplomat, Crazzy, and Superboys of Malegaon debuted during this period, none have been able to make an impact on Chhaava’s impressive box office earnings.
‘Chhaava’ is now just a step away from surpassing ‘Stree 2’ as the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2024. The horror-comedy earned Rs 597.99 crore at the domestic box office after a highly successful run. Vicky Kaushal’s film is now only Rs 26 crore away from breaking that record. Chhaava has already outpaced the collections of Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’ (Rs 553.87 crore) and Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan’ (Rs 543.09 crore).
The film is expected to make its streaming debut on Netflix on April 11, 2025, nearly two months after its theatrical release.
