Varun Dhawan and Keerthy Suresh starrer 'Baby John' released in theatres on December 25, 2024 but has performed miserably at the box office. The movie, which also stars Wamiqa Gabbi and Jackie Shroff, has received an underwhelming response with an opening day collection of Rs. 11.25 cr and only a downward trend.
As daily drop in box office collections went to a meagre Rs. 1 cr, several small theatre chains and single-screens have pulled out the movie from the schedules. With a drop in box office collections, there has also been no recent OTT release announcement for 'Baby John'. As per some reports, Baby John's dismal box office performance has left its OTT fate undertain.
As per a Jagran New Media's post, Baby John's performance has made it a less appealing option for OTT release, given that no announcement of its digital debut has come through. Fans are currently speculating and waiting for the OTT release date of 'Baby John'.
On social media platforms, netizens are debating if the makers of the film are searching for a digital buyer, and rumours about having no option have been doing the rounds on X.
However, with no official announcement about an OTT debut, nothing can be confirmed.
About Baby John
Directed by Kalees, 'Baby John' is the remake of Atlee's 2016 Tamil hit 'Theri' starring Thalapathy Vijay. 'Baby John' stars Varun Dhawan, Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, Jackie Shroff and Zara Zyanna. The action-thriller 'Baby John' follows the story of a single father running a small restaurant with his daughter Khushi.
However, not all looks the way it is. Behind this man's relatively present life is his dark past.
As 'Baby John' struggles at the box office, actor Rajpal Yadav shed some light on what went wrong with the film. In an interaction with Bollywood Bubble, he said, "If this wasn’t a remake, then this would have been the most well-made film of my 25 year career. But since Vijay had done it, the audience had already seen it and because it was a remake, it affected the box office of the film.”
