Sunny Deol Wraps ‘Border 2’, Says ‘Mission Accomplished’ In Iconic Army Avatar
Sunny Deol announced the completion of his "Border 2" shoot, reprising his iconic role as Major Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri.

Over two decades after Border became a landmark patriotic film in Indian cinema, Sunny Deol is back to reprise the spirit of his iconic role. The Bollywood actor took to social media on Friday to announce the wrap of his shoot for the much-anticipated war drama Border 2, set to release on January 23, 2026.

Sharing a striking image of himself in army uniform, Sunny Deol posted on Instagram: “Mission accomplished! Fauji, signing off! My shoot wrapped for #Border2. Jai Hind!”
Adding to the emotional weight of the announcement, he used the legendary song Sandese Aate Hain in the background. Before the melody begins, Deol can be heard saying: “27 years ago, a Fauji promised to return. Today, fulfilling that promise, Major Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri is back—to salute the sacred soil of India.”

Ahan Shetty, who is also part of the ensemble cast, took to Instagram to share behind-the-scenes moments from the Pune shoot. Posting photos and videos with co-stars Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and director Anurag Singh, he wrote: “Aur kya hai yeh border..? Bas ek fauji aur uske bhai hain. That’s a wrap in Pune.. onto the next one.”

Varun Dhawan, too, marked the end of his schedule at the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Pune with a light-hearted post. Sharing a video of himself enjoying tea and biscuits with Ahan Shetty, he wrote: “#Border2 Chai aur bizkoot it’s a wrap for me at NDA Aur humna celebrate kiya bizkoot ke saath.”

Directed by Kesari and Punjab 1984 fame Anurag Singh, Border 2 is a war drama that seeks to capture the untold heroism of India’s armed forces. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J.P. Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, and is presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series in association with J.P. Dutta’s J.P. Films.
Following in the footsteps of the 1997 classic, the film aims to carry forward the legacy of patriotic storytelling with a fresh yet emotionally charged narrative.
