New Delhi: After a long wait, Akshay Kumar’s ‘Sooryavanshi’ has finally hit the big screens today (November 5, 2021). The movie which was initially set to release in theatres last year on March 24, got delayed due to the implementation of the nationwide lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic. Directed by Rohit Shetty, the film stars Katrina Kaif in the female lead and also Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh in extended cameo appearances reprising their roles as Singham and Simmba, respectively.

Akshay Kumar plays the role of Anti-Terrorism Squad chief DCP Veer Sooryavanshi in the movie. The supporting cast of the movie features Jackie Shroff, Gulshan Grover, Abhimanyu Singh, Niharica Raizada, Vivan Bhatena, Sikandar Kher, Nikitin Dheer and Jaaved Jaaferi. ‘Sooryavanshi’ has been produced by Dharma Productions, Reliance Entertainment, Rohit Shetty Picturez and Cape of Good Films.
Another movie of Akshay Kumar released in theatres on August 19, 2021. The movie received positive reviews from critics and did a business of ₹50.58 crore.
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar has a number of other movies lined up for release. He will seen featuring in a lead role in ‘Bachchan Pandey’, ‘Mission Cinderella’, ‘Ram Setu’, ‘Prithviraj’, ‘OMG 2’, ‘Atrangi Re’ and ‘Raksha Bandhan’.
