Sonam shocked with 'overreaction' over Tanmay Bhat's controversial video

Mumbai: Amid the growing uproar over Tanmay Bhat's controversial video, which belittles two Bharat Ratna awardees -- singer Lata Mangeshkar and legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, actress Sonam Kapoor has come out in support of the comedy group All India Bakchod (AIB) co-founder-creator saying she is “shocked” with people's “over reaction”. Leaders of political parties across Maharashtra on Monday demanded action against Bhat over the video. Not only politicians, many popular Bollywood celebrities like Anupam Kher, Subhash Ghai, Riteish Deshmukh and Satish Kaushik have also strongly condemned the video over Twitter. It went viral on the social media and other channels and triggered widespread outrage. Among other things, in the video, Bhat has shown a face-swap. Statements like “why the 86-year-old Lata was still alive” and “who was the better player between the 43-year-old Sachin and Virat Kohli” raised a howl of protests and condemnations.
