1. Shah Rukh Khan
The 'King Of Bollywood' announced his most anticipated project 'Pathaan'. Not just this, the actor left his fans gaping as he gave a glimpse of his look in the film, going bare chest and flaunting his chiseled abs. The actor, who will be returning to the silver screen after a hiatus of four years, also announced two other projects 'Jawaan' and 'Dunki' scheduled for release in 2023. While SRK amplified his fans' excitement with his looks in the song 'Besharam, Rang', the actor came under the scanner as controversy arose regarding the costume worn by Deepika Padukone in the song.

2. Deepika Padukone
The talented actress who needs no introduction, ruled 2022. Deepika Padukone made her ott debut with the much-talked about film 'Gehraiyaan'. The actress made the country proud by being a member on the jury panel at Cannes 2022 and made heads turns with her impeccable style at the film festival. The actress began her entrepreneurial journey by launching her skincare and wellness brand 82°E. In December, she raged fire with her sizzling steps in 'Besharam Rang' and also came under the scanner as a controversy sparked over the colour of the bikini that the actress donned in one of the song's sequences. Deepika Padukone also made the country proud as she unveiled the FIFA Trophy in Qatar, becoming the first Indian celebrity to do so.

3. Alia Bhatt
Alia Bhatt was one of the celebrities that hit the headlines time and again for one or the other reason, all through the year. The actress had quite an eventful year starting with her winning praises and accolades for her eccentric performance in 'Gangubai Kathiawadi'. Alia's film became one of the highest grossers of the year in the post pandemic era. The actress came in limelight for making her south debut with SS Rajamouli's magnum opus drama 'RRR', and also for making her digital debut with her maiden production house's film 'Darlings'. Alia became one of the most beautiful brides as she married longtime beau Ranbir Kapoor in an intimate ceremony in April. The actress embraced motherhood as she welcomed her daughter 'Raaha' in November. Alia made her first on-screen appearance with husband Ranbir Kapoor in the much talked about film 'Brahmastra' and also announced her Hollywood debut alongside Gal Gadot in 'Heart Of Stone'.

4. Akshay Kumar
The 'Khiladi' actor was in the news this year, for several reasons. Akshay Kumar delivered a series of flops in 2022, beginning with 'Samrat Prithviraj' that sparked a controversy over the film's title which was earlier only kept as 'Prithviraj' followed by 'Bachchan Pandey', 'Raksha Bandhan' and 'Ram Setu'. Even 'Cuttputlli' that marked his digital debut, failed to deliver. More than his flop films, the actor faced the audience's wrath for his association with 'Vimal Pan Masala', that irked his fans who began trolling him on social media. The trolls and memes ultimately forced the actor to withdraw his contract with the brand. Akshay Kumar was also in news as reports of him not being a part of 'Hera Pheri 3' started doing the rounds.

5. Aamir Khan
'Mr Perfectionist' returned to the silver screen with one of his most anticipated projects 'Laal Singh Chaddha', that had been in the making for quite a long time. While trade pundits believed that Aamir's film would turn out to be one of the blockbusters of the year, the opposite happened as a lot of protests and oppositions began before the film's release with several people asking for the film's boycott. While the film was well-received when it released on the streming platform Netflix, Aamir Khan announced his break from acting, disrupted by the film's failure at the box office.

The actress has been hitting the headlines ever since her name got linked to conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar in the 200 crore money laundering case. She was summoned by the Enforcement Directoratorate several times for questioning, before she was granted bail in the case by the Delhi High Court in November.
