‘Sadak 2’ is a sequel to the 1991 film ‘Sadak’ starring Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt. Amid the ongoing nepotism debate, the trailer of ‘Sadak 2’ was released on August 12 and it was trolled by the netizens on social media. The trailer also became the third most disliked in the world by receiving almost 10 million dislikes. The movie released on the digital platform ‘Disney+Hotstar’ on August 28. The movie stars Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur, Pooja Bhatt and Makarand Deshpande.
Mahesh Bhatt’s made a comeback as a director with ‘Sadak 2’ after 21 years. Soon after its release, audience has shared their views on Twitter and made #ThrilledBySadak2 one of the top trends on the platform. The film has also received 1.2 stars out of 10 on IMDb.
‘Sadak 2’ is a revenge story where Alia Bhatt’s character can be seen seeking revenge Makarand Deshpande who portrayed the character of a godman. She is assisted by Sanjay Dutt, who plays the role of a taxi driver as he was seen illustrating the same character from the original 1991 release.
Aditya Roy Kapur plays the role of Bhatt’s love interest in the movie. Produced by ‘Vishesh Films’, this film also stars Jisshu Sengupta in a Vital role. Before the release of the film, Alia Bhatt took to her Instagram and shared a reprised version of the song ‘Tum Se Hi’ crooned by her. This video song also received 32K dislikes on Youtube and garnered 17K likes for the song. The composer of the song is Ankit Tiwari and has been written by Shabbir Ahmed.
