Not Abhishek Bachchan And Aamir Khan, Ranbir Kapoor To Star In YRF Actioner ‘Dhoom 4’: Report

According to reports, Ranbir Kapoor will play the lead role in the upcoming fourth film in the 'Dhoom' series, which is produced by Yash Raj Films.

New Delhi: The fourth installment of the critically acclaimed 'Dhoom' series, which has been thrilling viewers since its 2004 debut, is gearing up for a spectacular comeback with the release of 'Dhoom 4'. On the occasion of Ranbir Kapoor’s 42nd birthday, it is confirmed that the ‘Animal’ actor will be joining the cast. The film's pre-production has already begun.

According to Pinvilla, Aditya Chopra is determined to bring the show back for a new generation of viewers. Aditya Chopra has chosen to give the Dhoom franchise a modern makeover. Chopra and Vijay Krishna Acharya are producing the screenplay, which is working under the working title of 'Dhoom Reloaded'.

Creating "a cinematic experience like never before" is the goal for the fourth installment.

The source said, “Dhoom is a franchise dear to Aditya Chopra, and he has decided to reboot the franchise keeping in line with the current times. Like all previous parts, the script of Dhoom 4 (Dhoom Reloaded) is been developed by Aditya Chopra with Vijay Krishna Acharya. The idea and vision is to create a cinematic experience like never before with the fourth Dhoom film.”

Many have speculated for a long time that Ranbir was involved in the YRF project. "Adi Chopra feels that RK is the ideal choice to carry forward the Dhoom legacy,” added the source.

Ranbir Kapoor’s Role In ‘Dhoom 4’

The original cast members like Uday Chopra, Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, Hrithik Roshan and Aamir Khan are not expected to return for ‘Dhoom 4’. Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor will play the antagonist in the film, which is a change from his past flicks, and none of the original actors are expected to return. Two "two major actors from the younger generation will join as the cop duo in Dhoom 4," according to the source.

In late 2025 or early 2026, once Ranbir wraps up his previous projects, such 'Love and War' and 'Ramayana' parts 1 and 2, filming for 'Dhoom 4' is anticipated to commence.
