New Delhi: Awarded by the Government of India, Padma Shri is the fourth-highest civilian award in the country. It is awarded to citizens of India for recognising their contribution in their respective fields of activity including arts, sports, literature, science and others. This year too, many celebrities have been honoured with this prestigious award including Kangana Ranaut, Adnan Sami and others.
A report in ANI shows Kangana Ranaut receiving the honour from President Ram Nath Kovind. The report reads, “Actor Kangana Ranaut receives the Padma Shri Award 2020.”

For this prestigious ceremony, the ‘Tiku Weds Sheru’ producer Kangana Ranaut draped herself in a beautiful cream and golden saree. She tied up her hair into two sleek buns and wore statement earrings to complete her entire look. Kangana kept her make-up minimal to go with her subtle outfit.
Singer Adnan Sami also received the Padma Shri award from the President of India.
Popular singer Adnan Sami, on the other hand, can be seen wearing a gorgeous black sherwani for the occasion. The sherwani has intricate golden thread works around the neckline and is adorned with golden buttons.
Also, Pandit Chhannulal Mishra received the Padma Shri award earlier today. A report in ANI reads, “Noted Hindustani classical singer Pandit Chhannulal Mishra receives the Padma Vibhushan award 2020.”
Meanwhile, other than Kangana and Adnan, many other known personalities from different fields of activity also received the prestigious Padma Shri Award 2020, including Air Marshal Dr Padma Bandopadhyay, Captain of the women's hockey team Rani Rampal, Dr Raman Gangakhedkar, badminton player PV Sindhu and others.
The Padma Shri Awards ceremony witnessed the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and others.
