Mufasa: The Lion King is set to release on December 20, with Disney planning a multilingual launch, including Indian languages like Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil. The film, part of a beloved franchise, already enjoys immense popularity in India, but the involvement of Shah Rukh Khan in the Hindi version has heightened fans' anticipation. Amid the buzz, a poster of the film has sparked discussion online.

Mufasa: The Lion King poster sparks debate

The latest Hindi poster of Mufasa highlights the Indian voice cast, including Shah Rukh Khan, his sons Aryan Khan and AbRam Khan, veteran actors Makarand Deshpande and Sanjay Mishra, Shreyas Talpade, and Meiyang Chang. However, attention was drawn to the placement and font size of the names. Shah Rukh and his sons’ names appear prominently in bold letters, while the names of the other actors are listed in smaller fonts beneath them.

Marathi actor Saorabh Rajnish Choughule criticised this design on Instagram, writing in Marathi, “Shahrukh Khan can understand…but why are Aryan Khan and AbRam Khan’s names in BOLD??? How wrong is it to write the names of other veterans Makrand Deshpande, Sanjay Mishra, Shreyas Talpade as secondary? Of course, the contribution of all of them to the film industry is more than Aryan Khan and AbRam Khan.”
