If I Got A Character Like This, It Would Have Been So Nice: Ranbir Kapoor On His Wish To Play Allu Arjun's Character

In a recent event, when Ranbir Kapoor was asked about the films that really impacted him in terms of performance, the first name he said was Allu Arjun.

New Delhi: Superstar Allu Arjun has been ruling the heart of the nation ever since the release of his pan-India film 'Pushpa: The Rise Part 1'. Time and again, be it the audience or the celebrities, the superstar has left everyone impressed with his performance. The evidence of the same has recently been witnessed when Ranbir Kapoor was seen expressing his wish to play Allu Arjun's character while promoting his upcoming film 'Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar'.

In a recent event, when Ranbir Kapoor was asked about the films that really impacted him in terms of performance, the first name he said was Allu Arjun. Ranbir said, "Just in last two years I think three films that impacted me in terms of performances would be Allu Arjun in 'Pushpa' followed by Alia Bhatt in 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' and 'RRR'."

Furthermore, he also said, "All these films impacted me a lot, as an audience, and even as an actor, I was like wow, If I had gotten a character like this, it would have been so nice."

On the work front, Ranbir Kapoor is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming film 'Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar' apposite Shraddha Kapoor. Directed by Luv Ranjan, the film also marks the acting debut of popular stan-up comedian Anubhav Singh Bassi as Ranbir Kapoor's best friend.

The actor was recently awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Award for his performance in Ayan Mukerji's 'Brahmastra'. The actor shared that he did not 'fully deserve' the honour during the recent media interaction for the promotions of 'Tu Jhooti Main Makkaar'. In the interaction, Ranbir shared that he was glad that Alia won the best actor award for 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' but accepted that his performance in 'Brahmastra' was not out of the box.

“I am very grateful for the honour. I don’t think I fully deserve it for Brahmastra. Voh bahut badi kuch acting performance nahi thi," he said.

'Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar' is Ranbir's first release of 2023. He will also been seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 'Animal' which also stars Rashmika Mandanna.

'Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar' will be released on March 8, 2023.
