Fighter Movie Update: Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone Starrer Not To Be Released In UAE
As the film opens to a great response in advance bookings numbers, it has now come to be known that 'Fighter' will not be releasing in the gulf countries barring the UAE.
New Delhi: ‘Fighter’ will be released on the occasion of India’s Republic Day. Fans are gearing up for the release of this Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone starrer. As the film opens to a great response in advance bookings numbers, it has now come to be known that the Siddarth Anand film will not be releasing in the gulf countries barring the UAE.
According to producer and industry analyst Girish Johar, Fighter has not yet been allowed to be released in any of the Gulf nations save the United Arab Emirates.
The ban's rationale hasn't been made public yet, though. "In a blow, #Fighter officially banned across Middle East regions for theatrical release," tweeted Girish. The PG15-rated movie will only be released in the United Arab Emirates.
The news regarding the release of ‘The Fighter’ in Gulf countries—aside from the UAE—was also verified by a source close to the Fighter team. Regarding the same, the creators have not yet released an official statement.
As per ABP News reporter Ravi Jain, “'Fighter' won't be released in most Gulf countries, except the UAE, as it didn't get approval from the GCC Censors. The censor screening took place on January 10, 2024, and on the 23rd, it was officially announced that the film won't be released in most Gulf countries.”
Although the Gulf countries' censor board has not approved Fighter, the aerial action thriller will open in Indian theaters on January 25, 2024.
'The Fighter' has been directed by Siddharth Anand and also stars Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover and Akshay Oberoi. The film has been produced by Viacom 18 Studios and Marflix Pictures.
Siddharth Anand has spoken about the film earlier and said, "Mamta (Siddharth's wife) and I started our film company MARFLIX with #FIGHTER. A film that is ambitious in more ways than one. It's more than just a film for us. And we have given it all to this one. 2024 starts with the same feeling again of nervousness and anxiety. Here's hoping that you guys give the same love to FIGHTER that you showered on PATHAAN. Happy new year guys! See at the movies!! On 25th January.”
