Drishyam 2, Starring Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Beats Lifetime Collection Of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2

'Drishyam 2' has managed to surpass the lifetime collection of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ and has ranked as the third highest Hindi grosser of the year after ‘Brahmastra’ (Hindi) and ‘The Kashmir Files’.    

New Delhi: Ajay Devgn, Tabu, and Akshaye Khanna starrer ‘Drishyam 2’ is unstoppable at the box office. The film has managed to surpass the lifetime collection of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ and has ranked as the third highest Hindi grosser of the year after ‘Brahmastra’ (Hindi) and ‘The Kashmir Files’.    

Despite many other film releases, fans and audiences continue to watch the film. In its third week of release, The film collected 10.30 crore on Sunday making the third weekend total Rs 23.29 crore and overall collection Rs 186.76 crore. 

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter on Monday to update about the box office collection of the fim so far.  

“#Drishyam2 is a STORM that’s not going to subside soon… #D2 has revived weekend biz at metros as well as mass pockets… Biz on [third] Sat and Sun is EXCEPTIONAL… [Week 3] Fri 4.45 cr, Sat 8.45 cr, Sun 10.39 cr. Total: ₹ 186.76 cr. #India biz. BLOCKBUSTER. “ 

The film has been creating waves at the box office as the footfall seen in the theatres is amongst one of the highest post pandemics. The film has also become the 24th film of Ajay Devgn to sell more than 1 crore tickets.  

Helmed by Abhishek Pathak, 'Drishyam 2' is based on the 2021 Malayalam film of the same name, also serving as a sequel to the 2015 film Drishyam, which in turn was adapted from the eponymous 2013 Malayalam film. 

The film also stars Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav and Rajat Kapoor. 

Abhishek Pathak had recently said that 'Drishyam 3' would be made because there is a demand for it. 

In a recent interview with ETimes, the filmmaker mentioned that after the crew has some downtime, he will consider what the team will do in the next part. 

"People are excited, so they are going to make theories on part 3 and 4. But we're just about to close our first week now. For sure there's a demand for part 3, and it shall happen, but we are just happy to be crossing the 100-crore number at the moment. Once we have some time off, we will think about what we're going to do in the next part but as of now we're just enjoying every bit of feedback that we're getting," he said.
