Abhishek Pathak's 'Drishyam 2' opened to a domestic box office total of Rs. 15.38 crore on Day 1, and since then, those numbers have been steadily rising.
According to ABP Live review of the film,"Drishyam 2' has a very physical quality in which it excels while the emotional tangent is barely real and well-established. The film ticks all the right boxes in terms of technique delivery but loses out on the emotional depth. Its moral ambiguity about Vijay's motives come what may or the establishment trying to bring down people like him through every unethical means possible, are almost championed in a film like this."
In the first installment of 'Drishyam', Vijay Salgaonkar (Ajay Devgn) was able to keep his family out of prison. With the case being reopened and Vijay confessing, the sequel introduces a fresh twist. In the meantime, Meera Deshmukh (Tabu) joins forces with Tarun Ahlawat (Akshaye Khanna) to look into the murder of her teenage son.
'Drishyam 2' is a remake of the 2021 Malayalam film 'Drushyam 2: The Resumption'. In addition to Ajay Devgn reprising his role as Vijay Salgaonkar, Shriya Saran and Ishita Dutta also appear in the sequel as Salgaonkar's daughter and wife, respectively.
