Dostana 2: Kartik Aaryan & Janhvi Kapoor To KICK-START Shoot From October

Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor will play the main leads in Karan Johar's Dostana 2.

New Delhi: Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor are all set to team up for the very first time for Karan Johar’s ‘Dostana 2’. Movie buffs have not been able to control their excitement ever since KJo announced the sequel to ‘Dostana’. The film, which released in 2008, featured Priyanka Chopra, Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham in lead roles. Contrary to reports, Kartik and Janhvi will play siblings in the romantic comedy. It was earlier rumoured that the two popular gen-next actors will romance each other in ‘Dostana 2’. ‘Dostana 2’ will also star a ‘suitable boy’, whose name is yet to be revealed by the makers. Karan Johar had shared an explainer video on Twitter and Instagram along with the caption, "The return of the franchise with unlimited madness! Kartik Aaryan, Janhvi Kapoor & a soon to be launched fresh face - making it the trio for Dostana2, directed by Collind Cunha".

A report in an entertainment portal has suggested that Kartik and Janhvi will begin shooting for ‘Dostana 2’ from October. The two tinsel town celebs are currently busy with their respective projects and they have a choc-a-block schedule. Kartik is currently busy shooting for the remake of ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’ in Lucknow. The film co-starring Ananya Panday and Bhumi Pednekar will release on December 6. Meanwhile Janhvi is juggling between the shoots of ‘RoohiAfza and ‘Kargil Girl’. The report in the portal said that Dharma Productions have plans to roll ‘Dostana 2’ from October. ‘’Kartik is busy with a few projects already. He just wrapped up the sequel of Love Aaj Kal and is now shooting for Pati, Patni Aur Woh in Lucknow. After he wraps this schedule, Kartik will finish the whole film by September-end. On the other hand, Janhvi is juggling between two movies- the biopic on IAF officer Gunjan Saxena and Rooh-i-Afza. She will also be completely free only by September," a source told Pinkvilla. Kartik takes a small break from the shoot to finish promotions for Pati, Patni and resumes again. Then January onwards, Kartik moves on to Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 whereas Janhvi will start prepping for her role in Karan Johar's Takht which is also scheduled to begin early next year," the source further told the portal.
