CONFIRMED! Neil Nitin Mukesh as Sanjay Gandhi in 'Indu Sarkar'

NEW DELHI: After much speculation on Neil Nitin Mukesh's role in Madhur Bhandarkar's 'Indu Sarkar,' it is finally confirmed that the actor will essay the role of Sanjay Gandhi in the film, based on the 1975 Emergency. While the film has the name Indu in its title, it was earlier communicated that the film will not have a direct reference to the late prime minister, Indira Gandhi. Both the actor and the director were tight lipped about the former's character portrayal, but the recently leaked image confirms Neil's role as Sanjay Gandhi. Supriya Vinod will be seen playing Indira Gandhi in the flick. 'Indu Sarkar' also stars Kirti Kulhari and ' Ahalya' fame Tota Roy Chowdhury. Music composers Anu Malik and Bappi Lahiri have also joined hands, for the first time, to create music for 'Indu Sarkar,' which went on floors in the first week of December. 'Indu Sarkar' is set to release mid 2017.
