Aamir Khan Confirms Cameo In Rajinikanth's Coolie: 'I Did Not Even Hear The Script'

Aamir Khan has officially confirmed his special appearance in 'Coolie', the much-anticipated action drama headlined by superstar Rajinikanth and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.

Aamir Khan has officially confirmed his special appearance in 'Coolie', the much-anticipated action drama headlined by superstar Rajinikanth and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. While promoting his upcoming release 'Sitaare Zameen Par', the actor shared he instantly agreed to be part of the film — without even reading the script.

Aamir Khan said yes to Rajinikanth's Coolie without reading script

In a conversation with Zoom, Aamir shared that it was the opportunity to share screen space with Rajinikanth that made the decision an easy one. “I really enjoyed doing it. I am big fan of Rajini sir… huge fan. I have a lot of love and respect for Rajini sir. So, I did not even hear the script. When Lokesh told me that it is a Rajini sir’s movie and that he wanted me to do a cameo, I said, ‘Done. I am doing it. Whatever it is, I am doing it,’” Aamir said.

The film is slated for an August 14 release and features an ensemble cast including Nagarjuna Akkineni, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, and Sathyaraj. Pooja Hegde will also be seen in a special appearance. Coolie also marks a significant reunion — Aamir and Rajinikanth last shared screen space nearly three decades ago in 'Aatank Hi Aatank' (1995).

Aamir Khan's first collaboration with Lokesh Kanagaraj

This is Aamir’s first collaboration with director Lokesh Kanagaraj, though it certainly won’t be the last. Speaking about their next project, Aamir revealed plans for a big-budget superhero film. “Lokesh and I are doing a film together. It’s a superhero film – a big-scale action outing. The film will begin in the second half of 2026. We have both signed it. I cannot reveal anything further,” he said.

Aamir is gearing up for the release of 'Sitaare Zameen Par', directed by RS Prasanna and also starring Genelia Deshmukh. The film is scheduled to arrive in theatres on June 20.
