'Beyond Excited To Represent India': Lauren Gottlieb To Perform On 'Naatu Naatu' At Oscars 2023

Lauren Gottlieb announced that she'll be performing to Ram Charan and Jr NTR's song Naatu Naatu at Oscars 2023. The RRR song has been nominated for Best Original Song at the 95th Academy Awards.

Lauren Gottlieb, a Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa season 6 runner-up, is delighted to perform on the song Naatu Naatu at the Oscars 2023 on March 12. The RRR song, which was nominated for Best Original Song at the 95th Academy Awards, has become a worldwide craze. Lauren, who has appeared in films such as ABCD: Any Body Can Dance (2013), announced her impending Oscars performance in an Instagram post on Friday.

Lauren captioned photos of herself posing with Los Angeles' iconic Hollywood Sign in the background, "SPECIAL NEWS!!! I’m performing on Naatu Naatu at the OSCARS!!!!!! I’m beyond excited to represent India on the most prestigious stage in the world. Wish me luck!!!" A comment on her post read, "So proud of you! Going to kill it." Singer-musician Vishal Dadlani wrote, "Whoa Lauren Gottlieb! That's big!" One more comment read, "Yay!!! We’re so excited for you Lauren! Can’t wait to see your performance."

Jr NTR, who is in the US with Ram Charan and team RRR for the Oscars 2023, recently stated that he and Ram will not dance to Naatu Naatu on stage at the awards. Jr NTR also mentioned MM Keeravani, Rahul Sipligunj, and Kaala Bhairava singing the song in the interview. He went on to say that it will not be only him walking down the red carpet at the next awards, but India as well.

Jr NTR told KTLA, "I don't think that's going to happen (him and Ram dancing to Naatu Naatu at the event). I couldn't wait for it to happen. Unfortunately, we did not have time to practise. Because we don't want to show up on the world's largest stage unprepared. So we were busy, I was busy, and Charan was probably busy with prior commitments back home. Therefore, I don't think we'll be performing, but our music director (MM) Keeravani, the song's singers Rahul (Sipligunj), and my brother (Kaala) Bhairava will."

"I think it will be nice for me to sit in the audience and watch the song because the moment I watch that clip, my legs have started aching all over again," he added.

MM Keeravani composed Naatu Naatu for the period film RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli. It has been nominated for Best Original Song at the upcoming Academy Awards. RRR is the first Indian film to be nominated for an Oscar Award in almost two decades. Naatu Naatu is the first Indian song to be nominated for an Academy Award.
