The 34th Seoul Music Awards turned the Inspire Arena in Incheon into a glittering hub of excitement on June 21, 2025, as K-pop’s biggest names gathered to honour musical excellence across the industry. While the show is traditionally held in January, a five-month delay didn’t dim the glamour or anticipation—and this year, it was all about record-breaking wins and powerful reunions.

I-DLE Makes History

I-DLE took home the coveted Daesang award, the Korean equivalent of the Grammys, making them the first girl group in 14 years to achieve this feat after Girls' Generation in 2010. This historic win was a highlight of the night, celebrating the group's special mini-album 'We Are I-DLE' and its lead single 'Good Thing'.

BTS Shines Post-Military Discharge

BTS members RM and Jimin won major awards, marking their first music show since their military discharge. RM bagged the R&B/Hip Hop Award, while Jimin received the Hallyu Special Award.

TXT, another HYBE boy band, also swept the winners list with awards for Best Album and Best Song.

Adding to the night’s standout moments was BLACKPINK’s Rosé, the only K-pop soloist this year to take home a Bonsang. She also bagged the World Best Artist award for the massive success of her solo project Rosie, making her one of the top winners of the evening.
