KBC 14: Abhishek Bachchan Reveals 'It Took A Lot Of Secrecy' To Surprise Amitabh Bachchan On Birthday

Amitabh Bachchan turned 80 on October 11, and on his birthday Abhishek Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan surprised him on the sets of the quiz-based reality show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati 14'.

New Delhi: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan turned 80 on October 11, and on his birthday his son Abhishek Bachchan and his wife and veteran actress Jaya Bachchan surprised him on the sets of the quiz-based reality show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati 14'.  

Abhishek Bachchan on Tuesday took to Instagram to reveal everything that went into planning the surprise for his dad's birthday. He posted a video with the caption, “It took a lot of secrecy, a lot of planning, a lot of hard work and a lot of rehearsals to get it right. But then again, he deserves no less! It was very emotional to be able to surprise dad and celebrate his 80th Birthday at the place he loves the most, his workplace." 

He added, “My gratitude to the entire team of Sony and Kaun Banega Crorepati for helping me do this and making tonight’s episode so special for my father. Do try and see it if possible. KBC on 11th October at 9pm IST only on Sony TV." 

The video shows Abhishek preparing for the surprise and then surprising Big B on the set. Abhishek takes Amitabh’s chair and makes the veteran actor take the hot seat. Amitabh gets emotional after seeing a montage of various pictures. 

Then Jaya Bachchan surprises and tickles emotional Big B’s chin to cheer him up and also offers him a sweet dish followed by a cake-cutting ceremony. 

Meanwhile, Big B’s daughter Shweta Bachchan posted a picture with her father and captioned it with the lyrics of the ‘Tu Jhoom Jhoom’ and also wrote, “To my grand old man Happy 80th Birthday.” 

Amitabh Bachchan's granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda took to Instagram and shared a throwback picture from her childhood days. The black and white picture features Big B and Navya. 
 
Alongside the image, she wrote: "Tu na thakega kabhi, tu na rukega kabhi, tu na mudega kabhi, kar shapath, kar shapath, kar shapath, Agneepath, Agneepath, Agneepath. There never has, and never will be anyone like you. Happy birthday nana." 

The special episode of 'KBC 14' will air on Tuesday 9PM on Sony Entertainment Television.
