According to various reports, their final show in Ahmedabad on Sunday night drew a staggering crowd of 1,34,000 fans. This achievement makes it the largest ticketed concert ever held in India.

Sunday night’s crowd of 1.34 lakh marked a historic moment for India, as it was the first time a ticketed event crossed the one-lakh attendance milestone. Previously, the largest ticketed concerts in the country included performances by Justin Bieber and Diljit Dosanjh, each drawing around 50,000 attendees.

Colplay's biggest concert
Coldplay’s Ahmedabad concert also set a new benchmark for the band itself, becoming their largest show to date. Apart from 1.34 lakh fans on Sunday night, the band’s concert on January 25th in the same stadium saw around 1 lakh attendees. It eclipsed their previous record of 83,000 attendees at their Sydney concert in November last year.
The Narendra Modi Stadium, India’s largest cricket arena, boasts a seating capacity of 1.25 lakh. The Coldplay concert utilised both the stands and the ground, accommodating nearly 1.4 lakh people.

India's biggest concert
The ability to hold the concert in such a massive venue gave Coldplay an advantage over past performers like Justin Bieber and Diljit Dosanjh, who played at relatively smaller stadiums. Bieber’s 2017 concert at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai reportedly had between 50,000 and 65,000 attendees. Diljit, meanwhile, drew a crowd of 50,000 at Chandigarh’s Sector 34 Ground during his Dil-Luminati Tour in December 2024, according to various reports.
Coldplay’s Ahmedabad concert was streamed live on Disney+ Hotstar, allowing fans across the country to tune in. Cricketer Jasprit Bumrah was spotted enjoying the Ahmedabad event with Chris Martin singing a personalised song for Bumrah.
